Does anyone know what keyboard Banton has to his right? I can't seem to make out what it is.

i start to believe, though i am 27 and i never lived the 70's era, that van der graaf generator along with king crimson were the 2 bands that made so many innovative things in rock music that NOONE did after them(maybe, maybe the pink floyd....:))).....Just bow...

Plague is as good a Piece of concept rock as ever recorded.Certainly better than anything by the usual hacks, like ELP and or yes.Basically speaker vomit.VDG was 1st before even Crimson, and this track is beautiful.Hamill is as influential a singer as there ever was I'm being redundant, but these guys were so important to me in my teens because they were all mine and I was fine with that.Pawn Hearts and Godbluff.Masterpieces!

I remember doing things at parties in my teens like taking crap like CSNY off of turntables and putting The Generator on to see if anyone would notice. They were mine allmine, and yes it was Bowie doing Hamill, and i don't think Pete gave a shit because he knew the truth.Pawn Hearts and Godbluff are masterpieces, and I am glad to see The Generator is alive and well.

The lines I like a lot are "The maelstrom of my memory is a vampire and it feeds on me now"..What memories contributes to insanity and how they can corrode the minds of lonely people. "locked in silent monologue" is another great line. The second part of the song is more tricky and can be seen as a flashback of images and memories which led him into his actual state (locking back on the years, seems I have lost my way...) and the reasons of why he chose a solitary life...

Another interpretation here: The song is about the "plague" of the lighthouse keeper, where "Plague" is the solitude he experiences in his job as a lighthouse keeper ("my tower is built on stone"). He starts to loose his mind in this solitude and starts to freak as the song says, and finally he comitted suicide jumping into the sea.
