Of course this is emo. If it wasn't emotional it would suck. The emotion in their songs is what sets breaking benjamin apart from other bands for me. The combination of brilliant music and meaningfull lyrics is why no other band has been comparable to them IMO. I know "emo" is a genre. If we are talking "genres" then this is not emo. To think otherwise is just ignorant. If we are talking "emo" as a goth fashion statement...then you would be wrong. but since when is emo a bad thing in music?
