Taikyoku Shodan / Kihon Kata same difference mate. We discussed this about six months ago...

His eyes are too late. Your mind goes first, then the eyes, then the body. In his turns, if you watch closely, his block is complete before his eyes catch up. A senior should always make sure his mind goes, then eyes, then body.

I totally agree. This is a well done kata. Some people just don't understand Shotokan Karate.

I have noticed that those leaving negative comments on here are those that have no clips of themselves online (if so, please point in the right direction so we can laugh at your attempts) and are obviously 'arm-chair' warriors who'd rather criticise through a PC screen than actually show their complete lack of knowledge for what it really is.

For the negative posts, this is Sean Roberts Sensei, 5th Dan and respected Karateka under Enoeda Sensei. Now chief instructor at the University of Hawaii with Minakami Karate Dojo, considered one of the most technically gifted Karateka EVER to come out of the UK. Sean was British Kata champion 8 times (maybe more) European Kata champion, and was part of the World championship winning squad in the 1990's to say his Kata is 'bad', 'wrong' or the 'worst you have ever seen' is pathetic.
