Actually shah asked him to leave and says so in his book. However, Hoveyda said something to the effect of leave Iran and do what, live the rest of my life in paris or new york? No thanks, i have nothing I regret and take full responsibility for everything I did and have no fear of a fair trial. So shah could not convince him to leave and Hoveyda had no desire to do so. It's very important to read books it will help you grow as a person.
