My friend got an MP4 for Christmas but it's a bit different than that one. It looks more like the 3rd Gen Nano (or whichever one looks like a square) and it has its ups and downs. It has a built in speaker which is cool but I don't think it came with a set of ear buds. Also, the layout failed in comparison to even the oldest iPod's layouts (as in menus and such) All in all, the iPod seems to be a bit of a better choice, if not crunched for money but mp4's are still a pretty good music player
