My idea for this song is that the title isn't just a random time that doesn't exist. Nine in the afternoon DOES exist, it's just most people call it "nine at night". I think the whole song is about how much freedom there is in dreams...And considering during the night, most people are asleep, so from that they get nine at night...and then they call it nine in the afternoon, because it's about being really awake and alive in the dreams (not shut down like "night" suggests)
